54th Annual ATA Conference in San Antonio, Texas – November 2013

ATA Annual Conference is one of the biggest events in the translation industry in the Unites States. This year’s 54th conference took place from November 6th to November 9th in beautiful San Antonio, Texas. Vincent Grépinet from ITC France, and Lea Stancavich from ITC USA, attended the conference along with approximately 1,500 colleagues from around the world.

Freelance translators, translation agencies, representatives of universities and companies offering the latest translation tools and technologies had an opportunity to promote themselves and their services, learn new skills and meet new colleagues.

Vincent and Lea took advantage of various presentations, covering different topics from machine translation to the usage of social media in the translation industry. They also visited the Exhibit Hall and reviewed displays of companies offering their tools and services, in addition to visiting Translator Associations of individual states of the USA.

Vincent and Lea also had countless opportunities to network with current colleagues as well as to meet new ones. They attended Speed Networking, a fast-paced and a very popular event, which allows participants to meet a new colleague for 2 minutes, then move on to the next colleague. New this year was a Resume Exchange event, which connected participants that were “ready to work” to the ones “ready to hire.”

Vincent and Lea left the conference inspired with many new ideas and they are now ready to implement them into the daily lives of ITC France and ITC USA.
