Introducing GALA, the Globalization and Localization Association

ITC is pleased to announce that we are now a member of GALA, the Globalization and Localization Association. GALA is the world’s largest non-profit association for the language industry. GALA functions both inwardly as a support to the language industry, and outwardly, as a voice for the industry that helps society to see the importance of language. GALA serves to bring together the various parts of the language industry to facilitate the important work that we do.

GALA is an excellent resource to translation companies. It provides them access to industry data and useful webinars. The community this creates provides them with support, insight and encouragement. It is also a platform for knowledge sharing, allowing these companies to work together to become better in their businesses as well as in their field.

Membership in GALA is also open to companies that use translation services. It provides them the chance to network with translation service providers. This gives them access to reputable translation companies that hold to the industry standards that are promoted by GALA, and enables easier collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Companies that create translation software can also join GALA, making it a showcase for translation technology. This gives its members access to the latest technology in the industry and the latest information from experts.

GALA is also focused on the wider community, promoting understanding of a field not very widely understood by the public. They demonstrate the economic value of translation to businesses, enabling access to a global customer base. They also highlight the social value of language, which not only connects us to other cultures, but facilitates humanitarian work and diplomacy, for the good of all.
