The ISO 17100 standard “provides requirements for the core processes, resources, and other aspects necessary for the delivery of a quality translation service that meets applicable specifications. [It also] provides the means by which a translation service provider (TSP) can demonstrate the capability of its processes and resources to deliver a translation service that will meet the client’s and other applicable specifications.”
In other words, the goal of this standard is to outline translation processes and guarantee that a company follows best practices related to translators, technical resources and service quality when providing translation services.
This international standard confirms the quality of the translation services ITC Translations already provides.
Every aspect of each stage in the translation process is covered in the ISO 17100 standard:
- Resources: the qualifications and skills of translators, project managers, etc.
- Pre-production: handling quote requests, contracts, administrative tasks, project preparation, and personal data
- Production: managing translation projects, document translation, proofreading, revision, correction, quality control by the project manager, etc.
- Post-production: interacting with clients at all stages of a project, managing changes or comments related to complaints, conducting satisfaction surveys, etc.
This approach is centered on clients and aims to ensure you receive the appropriate level of responsiveness, reliability, confidentiality, professionalism, and, of course, quality of service to which you are entitled. Certification is an opportunity for continuous improvement that requires us to stay compliant with the provisions and requirements of this industry-standard as well as any changes made to it.
We’re proud to be ISO 17100 certified because it highlights our focus on clients and quality in every aspect of our work and organization.
